12月10日，“维基解密”又爆新闻，由于美国政府施压，多家网上付款机构受纷纷截断“维基解密”捐款财路，激起网民不满，黑客集团招揽4000多人，向全球两大信用卡公司Visa和万事达卡等网站发动攻击，一度瘫痪服务。追溯至10年7月26日，维基解密（wikileaks）因先后公开了驻阿美军秘密文件、美国军事基地及设施机密、英国大选的幕后资料、伊拉克战争资料、美国政府外交内幕等不下数十万份机密文件，也难怪美国政府对其恨之入骨。但究竟什么是维基？维基解密网又是如何能够得知众多政府内幕与机密文件呢？     

其实“维基”一词来源于夏威夷语的“wee kee wee kee”，发音wiki，原本是“快点快点”的意思，被译为“维基”。是一种多人协作的写作工具，可以由多人一起写作，好比一本可以无限创作的网络书籍，全球每个人都可以发表自己的意见，或者对共同的主题进行探讨。目前维基（Wiki）技术在国际上已经得到广泛应用，最为典型的应用代表即维基百科（Wikipedia），目前已成为全球排名前十大网站之一，年访客超过684,000,000，拥有超过250种语言版本与1000万以上词条，而风行海外。

维基解密与维基百科相同，均采用WIKI技术，因此只要将数据存放于秘密服务器中，就可以没有固定的总部和办公场所，甚至连电话、邮箱等官方联系方式都没有，因为它所有的信息均来自全国各地网友的共同协作。试想一下国内“人肉搜索”的威力，虽形式不同，但无论政党攻击、官场倾轧、黑客作乱只要有人愿意提供，维基解密就可以获得全球任何机密文件，这些信息在经过维基解密工作人员收集、审核后，最终将由朱利安·阿桑奇决定是否发布。这也就可以解释维基解密为何能够闻人所不闻，知人所不知的原因了。

但，如果维基（WIKI）网站允许任何第三方不受限制地修改，是否会出现内容被人为故意破坏现象呢？其实WIKI网站除可以多人协作，另一大特色就是可以保留网页的每一次改动，即使参与者将整个页面删掉，管理者也可以很方便地从记录中恢复最正确的页面版本。即全球各地，无论任何人的每一次微小改动，都将被WIKI网站永久记录，这一功能更有利于知识点与社会事件的梳理记录。

与WIKI网站在国外的风行相比，国内维基网站的发展相对较晚，互动百科是国内较早创立的维基类网站之一，目前已成为国内最大的中文百科网站，其词条忠实记录历史与还原历史的功能、一人创建多人协作的呈现模式，已越来越为中国网民关注与喜爱。就“维基解密”这一事件，网上相关新闻近20万条，在如此海量信息面前，网友很难全面了解事件进展。而通过百科词条不仅脉络清晰、叙事清楚而且图文并茂、信息完整，互动百科“维基解密”一词网友已共同协作20余次，浏览量高达70余万次。
